[HISTORICAL EXTRACT - THESE WERE THE VERY FIRST WORDS PUBLISHED ON OUR SITE BACK IN 2010]

This is the first internet portal specifically dedicated to owners and collectors of jewelry that was made in the Soviet Union.

The idea behind this site is to create a Hub where you the owners of CCCP jewelry can share, trade, learn, advertize and socialize about your passions and interests.

It is evident that there is not enough information available about Soviet Jewelry in English language – while the numbers of USSR collectors in USA, Canada, Australia and other countries is literally exploding.

All market trends indicate that Soviet Collectibles are becoming a very lucrative investment.

Gold and Silver jewelry made in the USSR is now a very hot commodity.

Experts predict that Soviet rarities will form the core of the Eastern European and Russian art market in the next few years.

In light of the above said we welcome you to share your thoughts, stories, ideas and all other information on any topic about soviet Jewelry.

Also feel free to post questions so we and other members can answer them.

Most important – enjoy the site and have fun!

More soon…..

I have been looking at Soviet Jewelry. Some of the stones are Very roughly cut. Is this acceptable? As well, I have noticed that some of the Obviously Vintage/ Antique rings have Identical settings. What does this mean when buying (e.g. does this mean it is not real, etc.?).
Also, what stones and colors Are worth buying? I know everyone says Alexandrite! But, I also know that the Soviet area has had Many different types of stones. What stones should I be looking for? And, what stones are Natural and Untreated (Not synthetic)? How can I Best tell when looking at a ring online (not in person)?
I have also seen a purple stone, with blues in it. Are these Synthetic? Please advise, as I am Very Interested in beginning with Silver Jewelry, and seeing what comes. I am Very confused in the U.S. as to what stones (and what to look for online)? And, why some settings in silver are the same (even if made in the 50's)?
Thank you.
