WESTERN SANCTIONS ON RUSSIA ARE MAKING SOVIET JEWELRY HOTTER THAN EVER! THE MARKET IS BOOMING!

We've written about this on many occasions now, starting way back when US and Russia went at it in Syria. Now we have a conflict in Ukraine where the two nations are going at it again. However Western sanctions are having the opposite effect, at least on the international Soviet Gold and Silver Jewelry Market. Sales prices are going up, trade is up and over all interest in these unique collectibles is up. That is because of a simple fact, the more the West talks about Russia - the more appealing the Russian culture becomes to the West. We said that in 2013, we are saying this now, and we predict this will be true in many years to come, since Russia is clearly back on the World's stage! Expect to see more about Russia in the news, and because of that expect to see prices on Soviet gold and silver go up, up and up. What can we say, we predicted this and really like being right once again. Your job is to take note of our predictions and invest in this market. There is no other way to say it - Buy Soviet Silver and Gold Jewelry.

Now lets analyze the market itself. It all started in March and by early April the Soviet Silver prices reached an all time high, selling not just above $200 dollars per item but going as high as $700 for the more exquisite and rare items. This is unheard of for Soviet silver, for eBay and for the market. We are now talking about prices that are close to those that are set by top auction houses like Sotheby's. The second most interesting fact is the sheer number of sales that took place during these two months. It wasn't just one or two "oddball" cases, it was market-wide! Keep in mind that what we are showing you here in this report is only a small fraction of what was actually sold on eBay alone, not to mention countless other on and off-line auctions around the world.

Perhaps the most exiting thing is, that this is just the beginning. We know, we say this almost in every report now, but it happens to be true. As you can see we keep our hand on the pulse of the Soviet jewellery market and our continuous analysis indicates that this "mini-boom" on USSR silver is just the tip of the iceberg. There is much more growth to come - there is much more money to be made! We are clearly seeing an ever growing interest in this market and we know for sure that there are millions of people (yes millions) that would be interested but still have't learned about this market. We are working hard to change that - and it is working! Also from the study of how other jewelry and art markets developed in the past, we see that Soviet gold and silver jewellery market still has a lot of room to grow.

Many of our experts anticipate that current prices on Soviet jewelry, even those that are above average, will quadruple in the years to come. Remember, this is a fixed supply market, there will never be more Soviet jewelry made. At the same time the interest from the general public is only increasing. Competition is increasing. All of this is bound to make Soviet gold and silver jewelry very lucrative for collectors and investors - but you have to purchase these items early while there are no fakes on the market and while the prices are still relatively low.

Lastly we would like to point out some interesting things about the sales you are seeing in this report. Notice the following: Almost all sales took place in New York, United States, not Russian or elsewhere. Note how many bids were made for each item, most were in the range of 10-25 and some reached as high as 44 bids! This indicates competition and demand for rare Soviet silver jewelry, and the more unique the items are the more the buyers are willing to pay for them. Needless to add that the sellers have good eBay reputation and feedback along with massive amounts of sales behind them. This is a very good indicator for each sale show here and for the market at large.

We would like to inform our clients, readers and flowers that right now a very unique Soviet 18K White Gold Brooch with Diamonds and Emeralds is being sold at an online auction called "LiveAuctioneers". Above that, it has our Hallmark ID Certificate which outlines all aspects of this highly valuable item.

Needless to say that this brooch is very rare. It was made by Moscow's leading jewelry factory "Uvelirprom" which specialized in custom and experimental jewellery. Their designs were unique and most items were produced in single or limited copies - and were purchased primarily by the USSR's upper class. On top of that WHITE 18K or 750 GOLD jewellery was very rare in the Soviet Union, let alone now. Only a had full of these items survived & almost all are located in private collections.

" Soviet brooch made in 1980, Uvelirprom Jewellery Factory, Moscow. Of circular form set with 15 square-cut emeralds and 76 pear-cut and circular-cut diamonds in an openwork scroll and foliate design, mounted in 18ct yellow and white gold. The back is hallmarked with the purity, the government inspection stamp and the maker's mark.

As Soviet jewellers mostly worked with 14ct gold, this 18ct brooch is very rare, as 18ct gold didn't become widely used until after the collapse of USSR. Furthermore, this is a very elegant piece, whereas most Soviet jewellery was far from refined. This brooch comes with an electronic certificate confirming the origins of its marks, and the certificate has been entered into a database from which it can be retrieved in the future.

The "Ю" was the maker's mark of Uvelirprom Jewellery Factory, which, founded in 1926, is the oldest jewellery factory in Russia, specialising mainly in diamond jewellery.

SOVIET SILVER PRICES ON SHARP RISE

Although we always took Soviet silver jewellery market seriously, we have to admit that until now, we treated it as a secondary market, next to Soviet gold. In our eyes Soviet silver was like a little brother that was always playing catch-up. As of now all of that has changed.

Across all markets Soviet silver has nearly doubled, if not tripled, in value! This happened just recently, in the very beginning of 2014, right after the biggest holiday season of the year. From the looks of it, on average, prices are holding high with no signs of coming down. We even dare to say that right now, gram per gram, Soviet silver is much more profitable than Soviet gold jewellery. Why? It is easier on the wallet and thus has a larger audience. There is defiantly a clear fan base that is largely exclusive to Soviet silver and there are in general a lot of silver collectors and investors that prefer/like this metal above its "golden brother". Last but not least, we ourselves have been working hard to ignite a passion as well as consumerism for Soviet silver jewellery, work that is beginning to yield tangible results.

Now, on to the much anticipated market analysis. We analyzed a large majority of Soviet silver jewellery markets and can confirm this as an official trend that is happening all over the globe. To demonstrate this we will focus on eBay as the central international marketplace for Soviet silver. To locate Soviet silver jewellery listings on eBay.com we did the most accurate search using these key word "soviet silver 875". Search was done on January 16, 2014. What did we discover? Astonishingly, out of 228, listed for sale, Soviet silver items - only 8 were below $30 dollar value. All other 220 items were priced between 30 - 2600 dollars, averaging out at about 90 dollars per small item! That in itself is a massive jump, simply because only 6 months ago the market average was no more that 45 dollars per item and a lot of Soviet silver jewellery could be purchased for as low as 15-25 dollars. Now there are only 8 items that cheap.

What can we say, other than - we told you so. In fact our early 2013 slogan for Soviet silver was "A New Opportunity" we kept, it going into the 2014, because from the looks of it the Soviet silver market has much more growth ahead. Thus, it is still very much a new opportunity that you can easily invest in right now. Considering that you can buy Soviet silver jewellery for 30-100 dollars per time, there is no good excuse not to. Don't like collecting, fine, buy Soviet silver as an precious metal / art investment.

We estimate that prices on many of these unique historic items will continue to grow to a point where on average Soviet silver jewellery will be worth between 500 - 5000 dollars. Don't believe it, just look at our Soviet gold predictions and how many of them came true.

You have to see this to believe it. Right now there's a real, full scale, Soviet Gold Jewelry buying craze happening on eBay.

A large collection is being sold piece by piece at bargain prices and the crowd is going wild. Almost every Soviet Gold item from this seller is with 5-20 bids. Above that, the collection was listed for sale yesterday and the buyers acted almost instantly. This is very unusual because on eBay professional buyer usually wait until the last minute to bid on an item in order to get the best deal and avoid competition. That is not the case now. It looks like an all out bidding war for these Soviet Jewelry pieces started right from the start.

This a the second time a large collection is “dumped” on the market and once again it is bought up lighting fast by gold jewelry collectors, investors and traders. Unquestionably the market is heating up like never before so invest, invest and invest!

The seller [eBay ID: babken-1986] is from Armenia, we haven’t dealt with him before. That said we have purchased Soviet Jewelry from Armenia in the past and can say that everything went smoothly for us. Items arrived on time, intact and exactly as described. Also this seller has 100% positive feedback, which is a very good indicator. Because the prices at which this seller is liquidating his or her Soviet Gold items are simply incredible - we strongly suggest participating in these auctions.

ONLY 36 SOVIET GOLD ITEMS ON EBAY - PRICES & BIDDING IS UP!

Today, we saw the smallest amount of Soviet Gold Jewelry listed for sale this year [on eBay]. Only 36 items! Furthermore, PRICES ARE BACK UP!

Many items are priced well above $600 US. What does this all mean? Simple, collectors and investors are buying Soviet Jewelry. We also noticed many newly listed Soviet Gold pieces, that are not only well prices but are quite exquisite as well. Without a doubt this market is heating up, which we predict will only increase as the winter holidays come closer.

Later in the day, as new items were listed for sale the total amount of Soviet Gold listings grew back to 58, however even that is still lower than just a week ago. A clear trend is emerging. The abundance of Soviet Jewelry is falling and prices are going up. There are two indicators for that. The total number of weekly listings [of course] and a substantial amount of newly listed Soviet Gold pieces for sale. Again as winter holidays approach, the value of Soviet Jewelry will only increase and as experience shows, once it does, it almost never comes down. On average, Soviet Gold only increases in value year after year. That is why it's prudent to purchase Soviet Gold and Silver Jewelry right now. In fact, it looks like investors and collectors did just that when there was a slight drop in prices last week (see our 10/10/2013 market report: "BUYERS ALERT - MASSIVE DROP OF SOVIET GOLD!") many took advantage of that and purchased quite a few Soviet Gold items, most likely creating this current shortage.
